In a previous birthday party planning post, I shared some laughable details about being an overzealous do-it-all-myself party planning mom. Now I know better, and I really do believe in outsourcing the things I don’t need (or want) to spend time on.
My son’s sixth birthday is around the corner. I’;m getting ready with birthday party invitations from LookLoveSend.com, party favors from http://www.orientaltrading.com/, and a video that will make baking a spaceshuttle cake make me look like a rocket scientist:
Their high quality, professionally produced video web site is so helpful that I am taking a confident leap into uncharted territory: baking. This is the one nagging do-it-yourself party item that still hangs over me. I have never baked a single birthday cake. My daughter is 8, my son is 5… that’s 13 chances! I have let this slide despite the universal understanding that the birthday cake is usually the climactic moment (debatable if a pinata is involved).
So I will turn to my trusty computer foryet another great online resource–step-by-step “how-to” video for baking a cake. Lots of other great tips and ideas for your birthday party planning are available on this same website, http://www.bettycrocker.com/menus-holidays-parties/birthdays.
